Sherry Martin was elected to Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company’s board of directors and to Life Insurance Company of Boston & New York’s board of directors in April 2020. Prior to retiring in 2020, she most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company of Michigan and Vice President at Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Michigan/Farm Bureau General Insurance Company of Michigan.
Ms. Martin serves on the American Council of Life Insurers’ (ACLI) Forum 500, Board of Governors. She also serves on the Michigan Life & Health Guaranty Association’s Board of Directors; Society of Financial Service Professionals’ Executive Committee (Mid-Michigan Chapter); and Life Insurance Association of Michigan on its Executive Committee, as well as Treasurer, Legislative Committee, and as Membership Chair. In addition, Ms. Martin is active as a member of Insurance Association of Michigan, as well as the Insurance Advisory Board at Olivet College. She served on the State of Michigan’s Office of Regulatory Reinvention/Insurance & Finance Advisory Rules Committee. Previously, she served as Director for Leaders Life Insurance Company, prior to retiring in 2020.
She is an Associate with the Academy of Life Underwriting (AALU) and a Chartered PC Underwriter (CPCU) with the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, as well as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) with the American College. She also holds a fellowship with the Life Office Management Association (FLMI).
Ms. Martin received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
